Frequently asked questions about recycled plastic bollards

What material goes into a recycled plastic bollard?
Its a mixture of different plastics but the main ones are high density and low density polyethylenes (HDPE and LDPE) from both commercial and consumer waste streams.

Are there different sizes and shapes available?
Yes there is a broad selection.

What colours do the recycled bollards come in?
The standard colour is black.

Can you add reflective strips to the bollards?
Bollards can have reflective strips of varying widths added in white, red or yellow.

Will recycled plastic bollards protect my shop from ram-raiders?
No, you will need steel or concrete posts for this.

Will recycled plastic bollards snap if a car hits them?
That really depends on the speed it is travelling. At low speeds in a car park they should be fine but they are designed to delineate walkways and other areas rather than to resist very high impacts from vehicles.

Can I paint them?
No. The recycled plastic is chemically inert so paint won't adhere.

What sort of maintenance to I need to perform?
Recycled plastic bollards are completely maintenance-free. Once they are installed you can forget about them.

Do you have a minimum order number?
Yes, but depending on the model of bollard it can be as low as ten.

Where are your recycled plastic bollards made?
Most are made in Yorkshire and Wolverhampton although some come from Holland.
